Can't Access Galaxy Wearable App

Recently purchased a Note 10 plus and galaxy buds plus. The buds connect to the phone using Bluetooth and work as expected. However they won't connect in the wearable app and the menu is greyed out. This means I can't choose ambient sound or make any alterations to the settings. 

I have searched online and noticed its a common issue but none of the suggested solutions have helped. 

Has anyone managed to fix the problem.

I had this problem. I bought a pair from wish and wouldn't connect and was told they counterfeit. I bought a pair direct from Samsung and had know problems.

did you buy them official, they could be fakes

Turns out they are genuine but non European model and that's why they won't connect.
