Buds 2 pro - one side kaput!

 I received a pair of buds2 pro as part of my zfold 4 purchase, only had them since mid September and have quite enjoyed using them so far however last week upon using them I noticed the left side was not functioning nor showing in the wearable app. I turned to Google and followed all instructions hoping it would be a simple fix - charging the case, inserting the faulty bud solo and ensuring the red light stayed on, resetting them and unpairing them from everything. Tried holding the touch sensors for 15 sec to pair the L+R, even let both sides and the case discharge and re-pairing from scratch and tried using another handset. Nothing I have tried has worked. Now when I place The left side in the charger case the red charging light stays on - for days! until either the case goes flat or I remove it. 

Oddly tho I notice in 'find my buds' the left side occasionally pings a gps location as its 'last seen' is never more than a couple of hours ago. 

I'm guessing I have a faulty bud? 

I believe they are still in warranty?
