Actually the Note 9 is available for preorder here in the US at this time.  Shipment will be near the end of this month.  I do know about spending for phones.  I purchased a Windows 950 XL for about $850.  It was the best phone ever built, but Microsoft would not support it and after a few months I put it into a drawer.  I spent about $850 for a S7 Edge which I loved (never had any problems).  They gave me $200 trade-in on a S9 PLUS and I paid them about $680 for that.  My advice is not to be an early adapter like I am, but wait until a product has been out 6 months, check the Samsung Community to see what problems have been reported.  This forum does provide a very good service.  It allows one to see problems with a phone they may want to purchase.   I should have come here instead of purchsing without checking it out.  After the Note 10 comes out I will check this forum to see if it is any good and purchase one if it is!  All of their Engineers should be reading this forum because we are the customers that keep them in business! ... For months I had problems with my SD card, a 128 GB SanDisk Ultra PLUS.  My phone would say that it card had errors.  I would put it into my computer and it said it was fine.  I would put it back into my phone and it would work for a day or two then show errors.  Finally it became so corrupt that the phone would say that there was not a SD card installed.  I put it into my computer and it would stop communicating or the equivalent of what some has said freezing up.  I put the card into my computer and ran a chkdsk/r/f command.  It got the SD card to where I could copy the files to my computer.  I then copied the files to a 64 GB card and installed that card to my phone.  It has been working without any errors for 5 days.  Here is a link that will explain how to run chkdsk.  It take a while to run!  Don't stop it until it finishes. https://neosmart.net/wiki/chkdsk/#CHKDSK_in_Windows_10 ... Your pictures may not be lost.  I had an occasion where I was not able to find some pictures.  When my phone thought that it had a problem with the SD card, it stored the pictures on my phone.  I used "MY FILES" (a Samsung app.) to view the pictures when I selected files on "internal storage" instead of the SD and the pictures I thought did not take were there.  When my phone thought that there was a problem with the SD card, it started using interal storage.  I switched my phone back to SD because there is not a problem with my SD card.  I have checked my SD card and it is fine.  I am afraid that Samsung is going to corrupt it for me.  Such a shame on them!  If only the national news media would find these pages maybe Samsung would fix it.  They would be force to because they would lose too much business. ... This is a note that I just sent to Samsung support.  If they do not start listening to their customers they stand a chance of losing them.   "I get many SD Errors every day.  I am using a fast Samsung SD card that was new when I put it in my phone.  It does not have a problem.  It is not corrupted.  The only problem I have are the errors you are generating.  I have had to power my phone off and back on a couple of times to take a picture.  Check your community!  I had a S7 edge and it was a great phone and the S9 Plus would be if you would fix this problem.  If I have a problem with a product and the company don't take care of it, I mark them off my list.  There are more people complaining about this than the S7 Note problem.  We have local trouble shooter on channel 11 TV.  If I call them for help it can get on the national news and you will get a lot of bad publicity that you don't want.  I can show them complaints from the Samsung community where people are having problems with S9 phones.  Every day I get these complaints on my email which I have.  I have the best carrier which is Consumer Cellular and a unlocked phone.  I worked with ABB in marketing.  Every Monday morning we had a marketing meeting and if we had a problem like this we would have the Engineering manager in the meeting and get it fixed.  I hope you will get it fixed because I would love to keep using a Samsung phone." ... I received a firmware update about a week ago, ARF4 and still have the problem.  I am on an unlocked phone.  I think that the newest upgrades are rolled out to the people with locked phones that are on one of the large carriers?  I am getting SD notifications several times a day!  My carrier is one that is used by older people, but it is the best I have ever used, but I don't think Samsung is too interested in helping anyone but the major carriers. ... I went to a big box store and asked a Samsung team member to help me with the SD error.  He took a look at my phone and said when I got the new firmware update the problem would probably be fixed.  I asked him why I didn't have the latest firmware.  He told me that the unlocked versions do not get a firmware update until they are finished testing. I have not had an SD Card Error since I went into GALLERY settings and turned off Samsung Cloud Auto Sync.  I have all settings there off except GO TO WEBSITE which I have on.  I also have Gallery turned off on Samsung Cloud settings.  I do have my pictures backed up on my computer.  This may not be the smart way to do things, but I am trying it and so far it seems to work for eliminating SD Card Error warnings. ... I did a check disk using my PC and that was OK; however, I did let it go ahead and do a check and repair.  I ran Malwarebytes and checked close to 8,000 items for malware and it did not give any SD errors.  The card I am using is a U1 type; however, I do not do any video recording so I would not think that it should cause a problem.  With so many people having a problem Samsung needs to specify that a U3 is needed, if that is the case.  I did not find this on the specifications of the S9 or S9 Plus. ... You are correct!  There have been too many cards tried and they had problems.  Wish I had my Samsung S7 edge back.  I had no problems with it.  Have had Icon notification number problems with this phone and it is finally resolved, but now get SD card errors many times a day.  I worked in a manufacturing facility in marketing for 41 years and the customer was always right unless I could show him where he was wrong.  Samsung has not done that they only put the blame on every SD card manufacturer out there.  Samsung needs to take responsibility and fix this problem we are having with their $900.00 phone!  The SD card that I am using is one that Samsung gave me when I bought my S7 edge and never used it until I got the S9 because I already had a 64 GB in the S7.  So the SD card I am having a problem with is one that was sent to me by Samsung.  The S7 and a SanDisk 128 GB was a bundle deal at the time I purchased the S7 EDGE. ...
