Wit ard4 had lots of silences mid call and less drop calls..   With bre5 less silences mid call, although I still get about one call a day with silences... Have noticed more drop calls with the bre5. Am on 02. Gonna sell this phone and get something that works. have got this update  - use the phone a lot on bluetooth - it works fine - maybe which you probably already have done un pair and repair to blueetooth device. Try a few other devices. If it is still the same problem then yeah def something on the phone ... View more

maybe samsung should stop advertising and promoting it on 02 if it cannot get it to work.  Just spoke to 02 - they have no date for an update - but have stated that it has affected lots of their customers. So have had this BRE update for about a week now. Generally it has improved the mid silences - so instead of getting them virtually everyday - the silences now are every few days. Just had a phone call now - and mid way thru it goes blank again for about 10secs and then the call returns. Am on 02 network - but quite ridiculous that this is still an ongoing problem - months after launch. Samsung now are offering free wireless chargers to vodaphone customers and people who buy directly from them - yet for customers who have to put up with their lies and rubbish - samsung offers them absolutely nothing. Am on 02 have consistently had this problem... However for the last week or so no silences mid call... Not sure if I can say that all is working fine now, but so far it seems to have sorted itself out. I have noticed more drop calls but whether this is a network issue or phone issue... God only knows... It's taken so much effort just to get calls to work that I now just redial people. Has most definitely put me off owning Samsung phones... I just tried the whole SIM swap... Had a SIM from Africa so inserted it left it on for a bit... Switched back to 02 after a bit.... Second call in the dreaded silence occurs for about 10 secs.... My problem is that it's quite intermittent.... Ok for days and then all of a sudden it goes bad. So looking to get refund and maybe get an s8 which does work .... Or switch brands completely ... Hi All    Thanks for all the advice and help. I have done all the updates, and resets and factory resets soft resets. But nothing seems to work. Have spent so much time on the phone with samsung and their awful sales shop team in the philippines, that now i have well and truly lost the energy to fight any further.   After updates / factory resets etc - the phones both of them do work for a few days without the silences. So you start to think the issue has been resolved.... Then a few days in you have days where it happens on 4 to 5 calls and your back scratching your head. I look at it from the point of view that it is an expensive camera that i have bought. Samsung dont really want to help, they just kick everything into the long grass and hope people just dont complain. Doing factory resets and then restoring the data - that in itself can take hours - and therafter having to put passwords back into all the apps etc takes forever. Best thing might do, is to get it exchanged at one of those cash converter shops - take the cash and get a decent product from another company. Wife has the s9 plus both have been swapped for new phones.. but both have this problem.  Wife does not worry about it too much.. As she makes less calls than me.... Have done all the updates and the rituals of jumping around a tree on the third lunar calendar... but the silences still persist along with the call drop outs. I make about 20 calls a day.. it happens in about 3 to 4 currently Samsung don't really care so just have to live with this faulty product ... View more

On O2 with s9 took my phone to Tanzania Zanzibar and dubai early April.... Back here in UK still same problem... So not sure that will solve the issue. I get about 15 to 20 calls a day some weeks it's fine... Then all of sudden it's a huge issue.... Especially today where it's done the call silent and call drop constantly throughout the day. For some.strange reason today nearly every call has had the silent issues and if it's not been that its been a drop call... How am I supposed to know that you have an LG phone ? Such a silly thing to say. You cannot guarantee the same experience with other brands. Not sure which real world you live in but it's def not the real world. In the real world you advertise a phone so that it's main function is to make calls should work. How do people full well know that products will have faults at launch? Again such a silly thing to say. If we full well knew that would mean samsung would advertise these problems at launch... which obviously they did not do. Spoken like a true samsung plant. Can't believe you have such low expectations after spending so much money on a phone that cannot make calls.  The point about other companies. Well any issues apple has with their phones their customers can go to any number of thousands of apple stores.... samsung on the other hand has a handful of stores which in the UK are franchised stores and not linked to anything samsung related... so having the stores is pointless. So the point about apple is not correct. Plus apple have much more customer service staff than samsung.. so can deal with issues quicker and in a timely manner.  The reason that samsung are not saying anything is due to the fact they are still advertising the hell out of the phone so they can con more people into buying it.   Tech websites have been slow to report, but an Israeli company has filled a law suit against them..... so things are happening.   Quite why you seem so happy with a faulty product I am not sure about.
