Sent to Samsung on Facebook   Ok so 10 months after purchasing your top of the line flag ship phone Galaxy S9+ and finding out that certain basic functions had been removed from the Android UI. And then being informed via the Samsung community (after many many posts from many people ) that the individualisation of text tones will be brought back on a future update, we are STILL waiting for this update to transpire.   Well UPDATE though on a Galaxy S9+ and surprise surprise, no CHANGE. See above for specifics re the version etc. On EE in the UK.   MESSAGE TO SAMSUNG (IF YOU BOTHER TO READ THESE COMPLAINTS   YOU DO NOT HOLD UP TO WHAT YOU SAY! YOUR UPDATE PROCEDURE SUCKS AND STILL NO CHANGE IN THE WAY THAT WE CAN ALLOCATE PERSONAL TEXT MESSAGE TONES. I KNOW ABOUT THREAD TONES AS I TOLD EVERYONE INITIALLY. As has been put on here so many times, this has NOT been resolved properly, it's a work around and only applies to conversation threads, not individual contacts. Delete the conversation and the sound will automatically default to standard sound settings.  Until Samsung resolve this correctly, God knows when that will be!, we will still have this coming up, and as a by line, will admin remove the resolved solution tick on this complaint. When I updated it is in the UK with EE. It's Samsung Messages via the Galaxy updater, NOT Google play store.    Hope this helps  ... View more

I'm in the uk. Us hasn't been updated. Also as you are on a phone lower than an S9 then the update may be delayed. Not sure. The only suggestion could be to email samsung cust serv direct . Hope it helps. ... View more

Update samsung messages (or the built in message app)through samsung galaxy updates. You can then go through individualising conversations by different tones.   Please note this is a work round not a full blown update. We still want to have notification tones for individuals. This just enables you to do it for conversation threads.  ... View more

It's through the message app itself. It's the conversation or head that you apply the sound to, so if you keep the conversation in your message app and not delete the whole conversation it should stay the same. Hope this helps, as I said it's a work round not a full blown solution. ... View more

Thank you Samsung. Update through and you can now individualise text tones. Go to Samsung updates. Then updates in my apps. Samsung messages and update it. Then when opening go to the 3 dots at the top and from there you can individualise conversations . It's a work round but it works! ... View more

Ok. Had the latest update from Samsung overnight, oooo we have Wi-Fi protection, bixby updates but still no text message tone options for individual contacts! Yet again we will hear " we're looking into this .... blah blah blah,  going into a newer update ...... blah blah blah " etc and nothing gets done.  This had better be looked at very soon or there will be a lot of current Samsung users migrating to other handsets as soon as contracts allow, and I will probably be one of them.    AN HONEST REPLY SAMSUNG IS WHAT WE WANT TO HEAR!! ...
