Huge thanks to Blenky for the download link. Installed this morning very easily and everything working.   I updated my Roku SS+ (not used since the World Cup!) and been watching both the test loop and Dynasties this morning.   Some quick observations:   - Yes, it works! - I don't have professional measuring devices but the colour issue has obviously been addressed. I watched a lot of the Test Loop in early June and frankly the FA Cup footage looked awful. It looks really good now. - Dynasties looks superb, the sorts of pictures you would see in the TV showroom.   Can't wait for Sky to sort themselves out and start broadcasting in HLG now.   It's been a long journey - I wasn't always sure we would get here. The test loop isn't at 50hz as far as I'm aware. The 50hz will only kick in for the live World Cup matches.   I agree the test loop looks pretty underwhelming.   Re the V6 box you have intrigued me. Can we get a definitive confirmation on whether the KS TV is showing an HDR picture when playing the World Cup trial through it? Previous reports have suggested that the V6 has only been displaying SDR, which is what we would expect if it handles EDID correctly. ... View more

As @tarbat points out, if you're using the Roku then it's critical you enable the automatic adjustment of frame rates. The reason the iPlayer UHD feed looks so good when working correctly is the streaming at 50Hz.    Surprised that you thought the colours looked better on the V6.... so far we don't have any confirmed reports of that correctly displaying HLG / HDR on the KS. ... In addition to @Moily post   "To include even more people for Wimbledon, the BBC is broadening its Ultra HD trial with selected matches also available to Sky Q customers. Sky will offer the latter stages of the tournament, including the men's and women's singles semi-finals and finals, in Ultra HD as part of the BBC's Ultra HD trial. Sky Q customers with a 2TB box will be able to access the Ultra HD feed from Centre Court via a pop-up/red button message while watching live on BBC One and BBC Two. Coverage will be in Ultra HD only and does not include the wider range of colours or HDR. "   So actually a lot of Samsung customers will have access to the UHD (but not HDR) feed for Wimbledon. 4:2:2 definitely looks better to me. No technical reason why that should be but it just does.    PQ lacks some of the wow of yesterday but I put that down to the distance from the pitch of the main camera + atmospheric light. Close ups still look great in my opinion.  ... View more

No issues with colour wash out on the England game. Have a go at @tarbat suggestion of setting Colour Space to 'Custom' and see if that fixes it (or cycling your HDMI input, but the 'Custom' fix will have more longevity!)   This really might explain why people have had such an inconsistent experience with the broadcasts. ... The exact same thing happenned to me earlier! Thought I was going mad when I switched to my SkyQ box by accident. When I switched back it just didn't look right - so much so that I had to check the settings hadn't reset themselves.   Looks like we may have found another KS software bug then, albeit inadvertently.   @tarbatI will try your suggestion on the CUSTOM setting. ... Fantastic picture from Sochi for Belgium v Panama on the Roku SS+   Going to Gamma -3 makes a big difference. I've settled on   Backlight 20 Brightness 45 Contrast 100 Sharpness 20 Colour 50 Tint 50/50 Digital Clean View: Auto Auto Motion Plus: Auto Smart LED: High Dynamic Contast: Off Colour Tone: Warm 1 Gamme -3 RGB Only: Off Colour Space: Auto     All very subjective I know but I hope that helps others. ... Meaning the colour balance isn't quite right. I think by tinkering with the Expert settings this can be mitigated - I'm going to have a good play with that during the 4pm game although Tarbat's suggestions of   - Dynamic Contrast OFF - Gamma -3 - Backlight knocked down from 20 (to a number of your preference)   Are a good starting position.   Any other tips from anyone else?     ... Sorry, my post was appallingly worded. The cable I changed was between the AVR and the Samsung Connect box. Like you, my Roku is plugged directly into HDMI2 on my AVR.    Anyway, sounds like your issue may be different but happily also solved :-) ... View more

@blenky   Re Your issue being resolved by going down to 4:2:0 - I had the same issue with the RSS+ a few weeks ago. I was watching MLB TV and it was driving me a Mad with irregular black screens and the occasional HDCP error. I did some reading and it suggested that some of the older HDMI cables find the bandwidth of 4:2:2 a struggle, even if sold as “4k compliant”   I don’t know if this is nonsense or not but by buying a new cable from Amazon (£8.99) and then reattaching the RSS+ to my AVR the problem completely went away.    I couldnt reproduce the original issue in 4:2:0 mode so I think you will be ok anyway, just thought you might find interesting.  ... You will want to enable the Roku setting for auto switching of display rates. The bbc feed is at 50hz which is why it looks so good (smoothness)   I need to have a fiddle with some of the other TV settings like backlight and dynamic contrast today. Not sure I’m quite getting the best image available - saw the France game at a friend’s yesterday who has an LG panel. Didn’t have the same issues with “over” brightness that I had with Spain v Portugal.  ... View more
