The galaxy M51 is essentially a revamped J series from Samsung. Upon checking with a representative they advised that the M series is one below the A series too. one clear advantage of buying the A71 is that the A71 is getting 3 android OS updates where the M51 will only be lucky to get 2. Also another little difference is that the fingerprint sensor is on the side on M51 and not in display like the A71 is. The phone is also much thicker due to that very large battery. Another significantly large difference is that the M51 runs One UI Core which basically doesn't have any of the highlight One UI features as its for the Lower end devices. Totally understand and appreciate where your coming from @dj1891    I work in a warehouse so my hands are not always clean   A couple of tips I picked up when setting up the finger prints are. When setting up take x3 scans with each thumb and then rotate the phone around when taking further prints of each thumb so your phone can read both thumbs from the same finger print scan. Scan your prints as you would normally hold the phone. Also using two fingers when setting up one fingerprint works pretty well. Go into Settings . Biometrics and Security.  Biometrics Preferences . Turn Off Screen Transition Effect. Then go into Settings and search for Optomise Battery Usage. Tap in Optimise  Battey Usage  tap to show All and scroll down to com.samsung.android.biom and toggle Off For me this improved the fps on my Note 10+ 5G which I appreciate is a different model to yours but should be the same outcome- hopefully. I also have dry skin on my fingers and so find it sometimes beneficial to moisten my fingertip before unlocking the phone.   I wish you all the best with this situation.      ... View more

@dj1891: Updates are rolled out in batches, and can be subject to availability based on factors such as region, network provider and purchase date. If the phone is outside the region it was intended for use in, then this can also lead to compatibility issues with updates in the current region. All I can suggest is enabling automatic updates via Settings > Software Update > Auto Download over Wi-Fi, and going to Settings > Biometrics and Security > Other Security Settings > Security Policy Updates, and toggling the switch to keep up to date. ... @dj1891: Sorry to hear you're having battery life issues with your Galaxy A71. Can you try going to Settings > Device Care > Optimise Now. While you're here, tap on 'Battery > Battery Usage' and check the list of apps at the bottom of the screen to see if any of them are using an abnormal amount of battery. If so, make sure to disable the apps via your Recent Apps button to prevent background activity from draining your battery.
