Strongly suspect this has broken smartthings integration. Have no idea when this was pushed to my tv as it is on auto update but for the last week or two I have not been able to connect to smartthings or control the tv with Alexa for my RU7020. Even thought the tv is connected just fine to my network and all apps work ok. The app and the Alexa skill though complain that the tv is offline. No amount of signing out and then back in to my Samsung account is bringing that functionality back. ... View more

Sadly that was me. I got RU7020 50" couple months ago.  Up until the other week it was holding steady at just over 210 mb free and then suddenly lost 140-150 mb into thin air. No new app downloads or anything.   not been too impressed with it. Washed out picture if viewed at an angle. Awful problems trying to get hdcp handshake with sky q. I think Firestick on another hdmi was interfering as I had to eliminate it (bought to combat the app storage issue as I have my doubts about the internal ones being future proof). And of course this whole storage issue debacle.   i am guessing it's the low end RU models that have the issue. I read heaps of review on the RU7020 and they were 99.9% positive everywhere. But I think it's very disappointing. My old Plasma Panasonic 46" was more reliable and had much better viewing angles. Trouble it was almost a decade old and had started developing little blue dots on middle screen and of course it wasn't 4K!   when I first ordered the tv I accidentally got sent the NU7020 by the amazon linked retailer and didn't know about the issue. Well I clocked 1 gb which I thought was tight but assumed it all just worked. But I refused to keep it after being unimpressed by viewing angle and washed out colour. So pretty narked the RU7020 was no better in that respect. However it was such an almighty war (not helped by lockdown) getting it replaced I have lost motivation to fight again.   i am just keeping everything crossed that the internal apps can keep working ok. I've no intention of downloading any new apps so just need them to stay functional. We watch lots of prime and Netflix. And since taking out the Firestick the Sky Q hdcp handshake seems to be holding ok. I can just about live with the picture even if it means my sofa sitting position has had alter !         ... Can I just ask, for those who show 0 mb storage as left. Does this cause problems actually using any pre installed apps such as Netflix or Disney? Presume the apps cannot cache anything so wondered if they refuse to work properly at that point ... View more

I guess in light of this and disappearing storage issue that the smart app functions will likely cease working at some point in the future. If the apps like Netflix cannot receive updates and the OS cannot update then as mentioned there will be security issues and there will be a point that old versions will not be supported.  this is a disgrace that one cannot effectively see what is eating into their storage and clean it out. I cannot account for where 140mb has gone in a matter of days. Downloaded no new apps and no app is showing inflated cache in the storage section. So it's basically vanished into thin air. Likely orphaned data likely never to be returned again.   i think I'll just get a cheap fire stick for smart apps instead. Wish I'd bought the JVC fire tv edition now instead.  ... View more

Ok thanks for the info. I hadn’t checked my free space for a few days but I was at 200 mb+ and now barely over 60. The only thing I’ve done is test out the DLNA in recent days which is why I think it’s that. I already had Disney and Apple TV installed before the drop in storage. The sum of all the apps and storage they are using (including reported cache) falls well below the 750 mb I am supposed to of used. ... View more

Hi all, I don't think this issue is specific to NU models. I have a RU7020 and I've only got approx 800 mb available storage of which I only have about 65 mb left. So if there was a firmware update available then imagine i would run into same problem.   i was at about 200 mb free but that suddenly dropped to around 65 mb out of nowhere.  Not sure what is suddenly taking up a load of space. It's almost as if storage space has been orphaned. I have a couple NAS drives with DLNA. I was testing these out on the tv and whilst I can't be certain I reckon these are something to with the sudden lost space. Trouble is there is no DLNA app to check and / or release space. I don't know if it will mysteriously come back to me at some point.   anyway I just wanted to let you guys this appears to be a big problem on RU models too. At least it is on RU7020   i share everyone's frustration. How Samsung believe it is ok to create a modern smart tv with less than 1 gb of storage is beyond me. It should of been 8 gb minimum.
