Samsung have by far the worse OS of any TV from the annoying adverts on the menu you can’t get rid off to the terrible USB playback along with the lack of apps and updates.  they’ve got your money now they move on.  ... You think buying another bit of equipment to solve as issue easily fixed via a software update is a good idea? That’s a terrible idea considering I spent nearly £3000 on Samsung’s flagship Tv that can’t do what a £280 bedroom TV can do.  Sony is by far the better TV in terms of capabilities and features. That’s not a solution at all and only on certain files. Say for instance a dts soundtrack is default the TV won’t play the audio and no way of changing to normal Dolby sound track without stripping it from the file or changing default track. They won’t fix it. And don’t expect any improvements via updates. Over the last 10 years I’ve had 2 flagship models and they got very little to no updates after 6 months of being released I think. I’ve just replaced a smaller bedroom tv for another LG and it is much better all round tv. Granted not the top spec like my Samsung but it highlights a huge chunk of wasted money ... View more

100% agree. Samsung give very little updates and improvements with TVs compared to LG.  The range of Apps available is very poor also. At least if VLC was available we could use that to play from USB and like you it's also a deciding factor for me also. So won't be touching another Samsung. And the fact you get adverts on the display is terrible.  ... View more

Absolutely agree.  my Q9FN won't be getting replaced with another Samsung. Their USB playback is miles behind the likes of LG. My LG plays more files option to select audio tracks and has DV    sort it out Samsung  ... View more
