@16th-Earl My solution which works (though annoying) is while a song is playing, close the app. Really bizarre but a song has to be playing . You have to properly close it though by clicking on the button that displays apps that are currently open then swiping up on the app to close it. Close your cover and badaboom the controls are gone.  Again a song must actually be playing. If it's paused then this process won't work. Still annoying as hell though.  ... View more

For those who are still having issues even with the July update I found an easy work around. If you close Spotify while a song is playing then it closes the led cover controls too. If the song is paused it and you close the app then the led cover controls will still be there.  So frustrating but at least that is easier than the other work arounds. ... View more

Samsung has released the update but its actually not up to them when it is available. The carriers "test" the updates (apparently not very well) and then release them. I'm with Vodafone and they show a list on their website of the updates and their testing progress. So it's now not in Samsung's hands but our carrier's.  ... View more

I'm seriously about to do the same thing. I'm going to try taking off the sticker inside the case first until a fix comes out. I think that has an RF band in it which might stop the case registering... I could be wrong though.  ... View more

Thanks for the input but it's not to do with locking. It's to do with Led Cover Services. When you lock the phone you can still access some functions. But this audio button function does not close on the Led Cover Services app anymore. Anyway, moving on, I think we need to make more new posts about this to get our issues heard.  ... View more

So true. As consumers we shouldn't be the ones that have to trouble shoot. They have a professionally kitted up facility for testing products and they pay people to debug. The issue isn't that the phone doesn't lock, this subject is about the fact that the audio controls won't close down as they did before the recent update.  This won't change until they do another update.... Hi all .  So i can pretty much confirm that yes it's to do with the recent "security patch" update.  I have also found that it is an issue with Led Cover Service. If you go into Settings/Apps and select the 3 dots at the top right, select Show System Apps then scroll to Led Cover Service. Click Force Stop and that will reset it but only until you use Spotify again.   Really bad programming on Samsung's end. This is not Spotifys fault from what I can see.
