Tried the safe mode method and it still rebooted randomly. Will try not using gestures. Doubt it'll fix it but we'll see.

So mine was randomly rebooting also, no rhyme nor reason. Rebooting randomly.
Set it up in Safe Mode and after about 12 hours of uptime inSafe mode it also rebooted , this time it rebooted whilst I was scrolling on the screen and I saw it. Before it would occur when not being used.
Dud unit , manufacturer date 7/29 made in vietnam.

Thank Google and its lax battery and spy management of apps on their OS's. Using leaching apps like Snapchat Facebook Instagram with all the location and tracking enabled it don't matter what you have it'll drain the battery.

Indeed. I'm no Samsung fan boy and have owned various Samsung snapdragon models in the past. If one don't tweak out of the box then one won't get good battery SOT times. I'm currently using a dual sim non 5G Note 20 Ultra and its been good for me. Caveat is I use 60hz and debloated but that's how what I do with all my devices.

I think it's safe to assume that it you typical battery screen on times are anything from 4 to 8 hours on the exynos model. I value battery life debloated my device and don't run that fancy 120hz. I get about 7-9 hours of screen on time. But with all the bells and whistles enabled cut that figure in half.
Not being rude, but all their bells and whistles plus battery hogging apps like Snapchat and Facebook are battery leaches. Regardless of how much one paid for a device.

Is the area that is chipped same some on both devices? If its an area that is covered by the cases I'd look into seeing what from the case is causing this chip.

Mines restarting at around the same time time early morning when I'm sleeping. I know it's a restart because of the uptime and I also don't have auto restart enabled. Also it asks for sim card pin.

Some great tips. Although I wouldn't be using all of them, just the ones that work for me. Getting great battery life, averaging 60 mins of screen on time per 10 percent.

It's all variables, your friends apps etc compared to yours plays a significance , if your concerned install an app like aida64 and log your temperature over time.

Try registering your finger prints again with the protector on, and when it keeps saying press harder don't. Just be patient whilst its registering new scans.

If it was one those glass ones with edge adhesive then they dont work. Your best bet is to get a plastic applied one like skinomi for example .

I can't believe Samsung decided to implement factory applied screen savers starting from this model year. Which I like. The factory applied screen saver shouldn't interfere with the sensor. It works ok in mine.

Yes it did this to me when the screen was off, so I had to make sure the followed were enabled. This in turn allowed Google maps to give me turn by turn notifications with screen off.
