That's great that they've been able to find a workaround for Exynos users. Unfortunately, we Snapdragon users are still left out in the cold. One thing I've curious about is if the aperture is stuck on 1.5 or 2.4. The couple of free apps I've tried, HD and Open Camera, don't indicate the aperture (Samsung probably won't let them read that either). I'm not even sure if their own new video tool uses the dual aperture. ... View more

Not completely. You will have manual controls such as ISO, shutter speed and manual focus. However, Samsung has blocked their access to frame rates above 30fps and control of the dual aperture (S9 has dual aperture). So you'll get about 50% of what you had back. ... View more

For me it was trying to video my niece who happened to he in front of a window. Used the useless exposure slider and it just overrode me anyway. Before I would have been able to expose it properly, instead I got darkness inside and it exposed for the windows behind. The Samsung video tool is ***** now. Hop on Samsung's YouTube posts, Tweets, IGs and complain about the fact that pro mode video has been removed. A few are doing it, but we are not making nearly enough noise! Why am I able to download the FREE 'HD Camera Lite' from the Play Store and have control of ISO, WB, shutter speed, bitrate and manual focus? It suggests to me that this is not a technology issue at all, but if it is, the engineers and developers at Samsung should be absolutely embarrassed.
