It's a shame it's taken this long for them to do something, in some cases though on reddit people are seeing no difference. Regardless I'm little to late to jump back to my S10+, things I love about S10 are definitely the software and overall build/shape compared to the P30 Pro - on the other hand the P30 Pro has too much going for it over S10 - some will claim the camera is no difference but honestly there is - also yes the battery is better, it took a day or two but as it stands I'm going to get over 5h sot using 4G which does take more battery than WiFi so I think what we were seeing was just poor optimisation of the one ui on battery. I think if you use only 4G your never going to get over 6 or 7h sot on a 4100 or 4200mah battery. Do we even know the usage of the people getting over 7/8h sot? I think they either are using more WiFi than 4g or mixture of both over their usage time. What do you guys think? Software or could still potentially be hardware as people are saying different results....

Still here lerking guys, been reading through your comments and could this be a One UI issue. If you search you can find the S9 and note 9 have issues too. Further to my last on my P30 Pro,, I think I can say it was just and still learning my usage, my usage as it stands with this beast is over 30h on battery, SOT 4h 36mins with 42% battery left. As I mentioned I will keep checking back on here to see how it goes and whether it ever gets fixed. Very inconsistent phone for sure.

We maybe onto something now, although Pie has been out for a while hasn't it? Wonder if any other handsets suffer with battery drain on 4G and idle - if this is the cause then I'd imagine it would have to be each brand looking into the Pie software and fixing. I wouldn't like to say 100% it's not a hardware issue now but it is starting to go towards a really hard to find bug inside Pie maybe that struggles with 4G. That being said I cudnt go back to S10+ now - P30 Pro is just as fast as S10 and wins overall thanks to it's insane camera.

Guy's I haven't replied for a few days- been sorting out with EE my options Here goes - My S10 Plus will go back in a few days - EE will wipe my contract clean and I can either upgrade as it was when I start S10 upgrade or cancel contract. This would mean not having a phone for a day or two till EE received this back and then me placing order for new phone. Since then I've taken line out so new number and gotta the P30 Pro - I hated doing this and still feeling bit on edge - My S10 will go back and be cancelled so all good and EE were actually really great doing this as they really didnt have too. Want to hear something though . . . . I've had my P30 Pro on since around 4pm yesterday - it started with 52% battery out the box - its now on 14% and only been turned off to do latest update - now I'm not claiming its amazing and the reason why is because today ive put my new sim in and its on 4G - What do think happened????? Battery drain yep on 4G on this totally different brand its also chewing battery. Now guys it may be a placebo affect but I do think today the P30 Pro has drained quicker - I'm also not saying this could be a 4G signal issue - end of the day there are so many S10 on here all having similar issues . . . .

Guy's there isn't a solution unless software or a recall is issued - package disabler is a temp fix to get bit more battery outta your phone - its not a fix, this phone shudnt need apps disabling to get the battery you paid for.

And the prize for worse reply to solve this drain goes to the people who make the phone! I went on Twitter to vent which I don't like to do and Samsung ask me to message them with details - response after using usage screens from wifi and 4G Again this is why I'm more than likely giving this phone a miss once sent back.

Ended up speaking to EE complaints team after being transfer from 3 different departments. Link them this thread and they haven't had no one report this, they also wouldn't know how to fix it which worked in my favour - now I'm able to wipe my upgrade off and start again - a extended DSR they called it :/ Anyway this S10 is heading back to them in the week and I then have a choice of either getting another S10 plus ( unlikely at this point) or choose something different - more than likely a P30 Pro - sorry but after seeing the difference in battery wifi vs 4G I just can't keep this phone. I pay over £55 a month 60GB which is pointless at min.

I spoke to EE today and got a right bad experience!! Script all way through, now tell me -once you get a replacement within the 30 days of contract does this reset and give you another 30? according to EE its not, ok thats fine but now its with the complaints team, they have no idea of issue - they wont replace my phone - I think I will see Samsung like I said and see what they come up with.

Easy answer is no, sure there are many apps people won't use and can be disabled but we shouldn't need to do this. I can say for sure in my case that 4G data is crippling the battery over Wifi - over two days i've seen the comparison and it's so insane. In terms of package disabler - did you download this from play store or download the apk? Require root access?

Can anyone suffering the same issue as me or please check wifi vs 4g or any type of data connection. Also please state what firmware your running on - Samsung unlock, EE and so on. Update - Phone has just died on 7hrs 15 mins just over 24 hours on battery - this would have been higher indeed if I'd done today on wifi but I'm running a virtual reality centre nearly everyday so had to use 4g this morning and left it on so for 5 hours ive used only 4G - this is insane that 4G in my case and others takes so much battery, I will go to samsung store near me through the week and see what they come up with - I'm hoping to get screen shots of a day on 4G and show them the difference. I'm over my 28 days now with EE but have seen people say Samsung have actually swapped their EE devices for their own, I'm not looking or hoping for a swap but hoping someone there can be a bit more helpful.

Need a Samsung rep to be looking into this, I may go back to my local Samsung store and tell them - see what they say and if they can point the issue better. I went with my first (release day handset) and they plugged it in etc but nothing showed. I'd imagine they are only getting the same as what the Samsung members check lists does and says. May see what they say regarding this wifi vs 4G - may take some screen grabs of today and show them. I hope it can be fixed with software, I'm really not in the mood to do another set up with a new handset only to have same issue or just do it all again. Listen I love Samsung but I started the year with the Mate 20 Pro and absolutely couldn't get used to the UI - camera and battery was insane and kinda miss them now. . . .wonder if I shud see trade ins for P30 Pro

Okay so today has been the eye opener for me, I mentioned it on here a while back - this is my second S10 plus and first one was the same deal. Today I've used Wifi for my data, no 4G on at all but still taking calls and messages - it seems that for sure well in my case and maybe others that 4G data connection really cripples this phone. Today I've been watching videos and testing games, using my galaxy buds and I'm on 52% with nearly 5h SOT! I would like to point out that I've put apps asleep and yesterday did a full factory reset. It still concerns me however, if it's a 4G issue would this mean antenna fault, maybe not as there is still signal coming thru for calls/texts. Is it something that can be software fixed? Again as I said would Samsung not have picked up on this? Or is it a carrier firmware issue? This seems most likely as there are many who don't have battery issues. I'm really not sure - imo I'm okay as it still gets me thru a day and sometimes more so all good.

@cara1 28th March :O so nearly a month after release yours was made - means that either samsung have been shipping bad ones for a while and caught it in April - TBH this has made me feel bit better knowing yours is even further along then mine - theres hope in it being software I think - maybe Euro versions suffer from carrier firmware and the chipset - could be a bad combo of many things - app+chip+carrier and so on

It would be good to know when peoples devices were made - newer ones if they are getting good battery as intended may mean hardware? Would also like to know what software people are running, is there a problem for instance with carrier firmware rather than the Samsung unlocked one - I'm not really angry, enjoying my S10 plus certainly but concerned that if it is a hardware large batch issue that the battery will only get worse and not last for the 2 years . I'd be happy with a software fix for sure but I really can't see it - no reports on big sites to get samsung to take notice.

Over 4hra SOT with estimated 22 hrs of battery left? I think your fine mate Many of us have that SOT with only a few % battery left so your fine I'd say - i have a UK version on EE and have over 4 hrs SOT with only 14% battery left, any idea when your phone was manufactured? Look on google on how to find this out.
