If you had read what I wrote, than you wouldn't claim this. It is partially compatible. Partially. I’m not going to repeat myself here, read the previous post. “Us hindering our own watches, which you'd suggest we'd be doing, would only block our sales of said watches.” We agree on that! In fact, that’s the point I was trying to make! Believe it or not, I had to convince some of the helpdesk employees of that.. But again, have you really read what I wrote?? But, have you read the reviews in the Apple store about the Samsung Galaxy Watch app? And I don’t mean the good ones.. Read the ones reporting problems. I’m not the only one! Seriously, you referred to “we” when claiming that the app was made compatible with the iPhone. I’m not sure if you’re on the developers team, but if so, get your head out of the sand! And if not, please pass that message on to them! My case is not an isolated one. And while you’re in contact with them, please suggest the cloud based system I proposed. So we can all enjoy uncrippled use of our Smartwatches..

Thank you for your reply Nick. But here's my take on this.. If I was to purchase a cheap second hand Samsung Smartphone, install the Samsung Galaxy Watch app, log in to my Samsung account and then purchase the apps and watch faces I want, I can 'transfer' them to my Galaxy Watch. If I then was to ritually burn my Samsung Smartphone in a garden bum fire, the apps and watch faces would remain on my Galaxy Watch and function until the day I decide to uninstall them from Galaxy Watch. So these apps and watch faces would be on my Galaxy Watch. Independently from any Smartphone. They wouldn't 'auto-uninstall' at the moment I’m burning away my Samsung Smartphone. Now after I've installed those apps and watch faces, if I was to take my iPhone, install the Samsung Galaxy Watch app, log in to my Samsung account and look in it, there is no evidence of me ever having purchased these apps and watch faces. Why??? Because if, after I burned my cheap, second hand purchased Samsung Smartphone, I borrow my friend's Samsung Smartphone and log in to my Samsung account on there.. Tadaaa.. There is the list of my purchased apps and watch faces. Samsung's policy dictates to NOT have the functionality in its iPhone Galaxy Watch version. Even if purchasing apps and watch faces is "not possible" for whatever lousy "missing Samsung Pay" excuse, a list of purchased apps and faces, just like on the Samsung Smartphone Galaxy Watch app should be very possible. Especially since the Smartphone connection is only required to transfer purchases to your Galaxy Watch, not to keep them running after purchasing. No.. This is a choice Samsung’s marketing strategizers make. As to why they choose this path, one may wonder.. But the likely options seem limited to me and I suspect them to come down to Samsung trying to demotivate using a competitor's smartphone and other equipment. And maybe even be so arrogant to think somebody would switch to a Samsung Smartphone because of his Samsung Smartwatch.. And yes, I've been suggested to switch to a Samsung Smartphone more than once in my communication with Samsung's helpdesk or other technical assistants. But the idea to switch phones due to a watch is ridiculous and shows great arrogance on Samsung's behalf. But here's some food for thought.. The Apple fan-boys and girls will buy the Apple Watch. True that. But me, I like my iPhone, but would like to use the Samsung Galaxy Watch. I am now strongly considering sending the Samsung Watch back, because Samsung chooses to limit its functionality when using other brands hardware in conjunction with it. So they don't push me to burn my iPhone and switch to a Samsung Smartphone. No. They push me to stick with my iPhone, return the Samsung Smartwatch and switch to an Apple Watch. And there must be more people like me (who may not take the time to even bother writing on a forum like this). Samsung does not advertise truly and honestly state the limited functionality of the Galaxy Watch when using them in conjunction with iPhone and other devices. This alone proves that they know and choose to accept the customer to suffer the consequences after purchase. They either don't give a *****.. Or they hope to see such customer dump their other equipment and switch to Samsung electronics. Either way, I paid the same 329 Euro as a Samsung Smartphone user paid, but get half the functionality. That isn't just false advertisement, its fraud. And please, don't dump ***** on me like "yeah, but Samsung Pay this.. and app compatibility that.. and Apple closed system being a meany to Samsung.. etc. etc.". I’m pretty sure you understand what I mean with my remark “Facebook’s toyboy”.. Messenger = Facebook. The full name of this app/software is “Facebook Messenger”. Even on the Smartphone, after making an account and logging in, it directly recognizes intrudes personal data, shows your own name listed in contacts and requests to install and open in Facebook instead. Even though I don’t have a Facebook account. Many will agree, and there is sufficient evidence to be found online to support my opinion, Facebook is a criminal organization if you were to look at it from a legal perspective. Samsung should not have teamed up with Facebook to the extent where it requires any of its services to connect to the customer. Period. Yes, I’ve tried many things including your suggestion. Samsung Health does not see, recognize, connect or sync anymore with the Galaxy Watch. That stopped 2 days after use. “Funny” enough, it does do all those things when logging into the Samsung Health app on a friends Samsung Smartphone.. In the coming days I will take the time to write an extensive and negative review on my Samsung Galaxy Watch, Samsung policy in relation to it and the various helpdesks communication that followed my purchase.

I have a few issues with my Samsung Galaxy Watch.
Why is it not possible to install paid Galaxy watch apps and faces when using an iPhone?
From a friend I saw that the Galaxy Watch app on his Samsung Phone has another tab that showed his purchases.
So Samsung created a different app for the Samsung Phone, than for the iPhone.
There must be a lot of i-device haters here, so I probably shouldn't be surprised with the answer, but
is it Apple with its closed system that blocks Samsung because of competition?
Or is it Samsung that blocks Apple to try to force people to switch to a Samsung phone?
Either way, it is absurd to switch phones for a watch..
Make a good device and let the customer choose, don't try to manipulate the market with this stupidity.
As for a solution, if I was to get a cheap second hand Samsung Smartphone, log on into my Samsung account and purchase the Galaxy Watch face I want, would it show up on my iPhone Samsung Galaxy Watch app?
Because if I was to connect my Galaxy Watch to such Samsung Smartphone, it would reset the Galaxy Watch when ‘leaving’ the iPhone pairing. And all Watch apps and faces will be lost.
And after purchasing a Watch app or face on that Samsung Smartwatch, the same would happen when connecting the Galaxy Watch back to my iPhone again..
So what's the solution to this?
Is there another way to install paid apps and faces on my Galaxy Watch?
For example via a PC/laptop?
Perhaps in the same way the music manager works?
If it is not possible to do this, my Samsung Watch is very limited in its use and it can’t be optimally used and personalized.
This kind of makes the Galaxy Watch obsolete for me..
Also, after the first 2 days, the Galaxy Watch does not sync with the Samsung Health app on my iPhone anymore.
The Galaxy Watch connects to the Samsung Galaxy Watch app on the iPhone just fine, but the Samsung Health app states: “No wearable devices connected.” And doesn’t sync any health data.
I have tried to un-install and re-install the Samsung Health app, but that didn’t resolve the issue.
At the moment, it only seems to record its data through the iPhone sensors and not through the Galaxy Watch, which now poses another limitation in the use of my Galaxy Watch and thus experience.
As I said, I don’t want to change my mobile phone for my watch, so a solution is welcome.
If there is no solution and/or these issues can’t be resolved, I will consider returning the Galaxy Watch.
One last thing that also bothers me, according to the 'help'desk, in order to get in touch with a 'Product Specialist', one needs to submit a message via "Messenger".
Messenger = Facebook
I have no Facebook account and refuse to create one for the same of getting some sort of customer service.
And why this link with Facebook? Samsung becoming Facebooks toyboy now?
This forum/board seems to be the last resort to receive a reply.
I sincerely hope to receive that reply on these issues.
Please help me out.
