Ok guys, so far I've not had any restarts after using the revised version of the fix.  I think the key point is disabling changing system setting change permission for the optimization service. And if it continues to work I'm happy. If not... then I'll take another look at it.   Reply and tell me if the revised version works for you. You all are confirming that the game optimization service being disabled is working for now? I do believe we should do it like this instead:   Enter game launcher Go to game performance Turn it to the central setting Go to settings Go to advanced settings Turn off game launcher  Go to settings Go to applications Force stop game launcher Uninstall its updates Turn apps that can appear on top off for it. Go to applications  Force stop game optimization service (in system apps if you can't see it). Uninstall its updates  Turn apps that can appear on top off for it   Turn off apps that can change system settings for it.   Then turn off automatic updates to the apps if you can.   I'm going to try this now. Noticed something. If my phone is gonna restart I get random freezing on Chrome where I'll  just be scrolling and the screen's image will get stuck but still register my inputs underneath. Then after a minute or so it goes black, then works fine without any reboots or anything before Chrome freezes again. It's as if the freezes are when the phone would restart if i was on my game. Anyway when this happens I know my phone is going to restart when I play, and this usually happens after my phone has been on for half an hour or so. Turning it off for a while resets the cycle however and makes it unlikely to restart when I turn it back on to play until after half an hour or so it starts to restart and the Chrome thing comes back simultaneously. Hi again, just sent an error report to Samsung via Samsung Members detailing my research, and info and a link to this thread, did also spot an interesting article on the notices section. Says the update may be halted for an "emergency fix" so that could be in our favour seeing as it wouldn't be their first. If you want you can get to Samsung Members by going to settings>about phone>contact us and then go through the processes then go to notices in the menu, you can view the info on J3 Oreo or you could use the app to send an error report too. ... By the way, how often and when do your devices restart? Mine only does it when running games online. I'm using it now, it can use chrome fine, but when I load up a game it starts restarting. I'm worried that I might need to get a new phone.    I have a few ideas, if we all could try to push samsung to do what happened on the older phones that had this problem - stop updating the phones and fix the update.   We could make a petition, bother the support lines, or get the samsung/android news sites to write articles on it. Done a bit of research. Reboots are a known error with this update (Android 8.0.0 Oreo) and this was first released for other devices a while back, these had it patched but our issue was not resolved in full. Unless a specific fix is released we may have to wait for 8.1 which is taking it a step too far seeing as there are no plans for 8.1 on J3 2017 yet. So don't go resetting your phones quite yet. If we can make this issue known the patch could come faster. All the known ways of removing an error of this type don'the seem to work, idk if there will be a manual fix out there somewhere but I can assure you all that this is simply a bad update in the J3 2017's case and the cache etc don't seem to influence the problem.
