Drag the left speaker down to "Surround L" and the Right to "Surround R" and click next 7. Put all three devices on same volume level and click done. 8. You will still have the same crappy rear sound at this moment, but here´s the bug I found. When the configuration is established it will say "Surround" and they will show as grouped. NOW, click on the three dots again, click input source, choose HDMI and then back to D.IN. When it´s done the volume will drop down to almost zero, so you have to use TV-remote and increase the volume again and you will have true 5.1 - with one control.   Please try this and give me a feedback. Are you saying that your ARC sounds the same as when you were on optical? My optical volume was way louder on the rears than when I am on ARC. Not sure if we're on the same page about the optical solution. I registred on this forum this week, bought the soundbar in januar and r1's in feb. Are you talking about the solution where you use optical and have to use two remotes - one for soundbar and one for rear speakers?   Nonetheless, my current setup allows me to set the rear speakers significally higher than the sound bar (if wanted) and only use one remote to control the sound system.    ... Abob: It's flattering for Samsung that you call the WIFI setup for 5.1 even though there's slightly sound from the rear speakers :p The latest firmware update did increase the rear sound abit, but still need them to push out 80% more volume in order for me to call it 5.1. What I ment was that you'll notice when the surround is working as it intended. I just find it interesting that the audio sounds the same whether I am using Wi-Fi or ARC. Then the setup is not correct. There's not doubt in mind when the 5.1 is kicking in. Let me know when you've tried another HDMI - maybe I can try making a guide on how my setup is. What does the display on sound bar say when you're connected through HDMI? All devices are set to the same volume level in the app. I even put the sound bar at +4 and the rear on +3 sometimes cause the rear speakers are too loud.   I too have to "re-configurate" when the it's been off over-night or longer period of time. Sounds strange that I´m telling you to do the basics like group them when in D.IN mode but it´s the only way I got it working.   Also just a quick question. When I use mine with the optical workaround, it doesn't turn off the sound bar with the surround speakers............ Does it put everything in standby when hdmi is connected as suggested?      Hi Rob,   The HDMI solution is working seamlessly with TV and sound bar. It turns everything on/off with one single click on the power button on the TV remote. Everything works like if you´d group them over WIFI, except that with HDMI it´s actually working as intentionally.    NB! And yes, had a 1.4 HDMI cable. It switched to TV ARC but no sound at all. Not on the soundbar, nor rear speakers. I changed it with a HDMI 2.0 and the soundbar got sound but not the rear. So I physically turned the volume up on the rear speakers  and it grouped it in multiroom app, sat all three devices on same volume level - VOILÁ! It actually worked! Tried it on Netflix, Plex, BluRay, YouTube (some worked, some didn't) and all worked!    It's 1:00 AM in Norway and I woke my wife playing to loud but who cares! This is excatly what we desire but unfortunately the rear volume is still 20% of the sound soundbar is providing - with R1 on max and soundbar on lowest level.   Tried to group them in both multiroom app and on my KS7000 TV, reset the bar and establish connection again, problem persist.    However, when I'm not connected to the TV and listening to the sample music through the Multiroom APP it's working flawless. I can individually adjust the volume on all three devices (soundbar + R1) using my phone and use the soundbar/TV remote for "global" volume adjustment - how it should be.  ... View more
