This morning I woke early and I would have liked to send an Email. My normal process would have been to use my Desktop Computer. I didn’t want to disturb the family who were still asleep by switching on my desktop computer so I had to wait until they woke up. I am new to Smart Phones and am on a steep learning curve so it’s no surprise that I was unable to work out how to set up the Email facility on my SP and I would ask for some guidance. I need to know, “If I set up an Email capability on this SP using my existing Email address will it automatically accept every Email that would normally go to my desktop computer. I have a heavy Email contact list which I don't want to communicate with on a day to day process via my SP. If it does I assume that I will need another Email address?

Right, I have the apps I deleted back and have managed to connect the SP to my PC but can't work pout how to move photographs from SP to PC.

I spent a lot of time trying to connect the SP to my PC and finally gave up with the cable I was using and pluged the one that came with the SP. Great so far especially when I found the SP, a Samsung J6 2017 icon on the desktop but try as hard as I have I simply can't work out how to move photographs from my SP to my PC.

I have a Samsung J6 2017 and I am not very technically competent knowing very little about Smart Phones. I read that one way to extend battery life was to remove battery hungry Apps I got stuck in and as is to be expected of a technically incompetent I did not take a note of the ones I dumped. These actions may have led to the following problems. One. I have taken a number of photographs and whatever I do I have been unable to work out how to send the ones I want to my daughter. Two. I thought that all had to do to move photographs onto my computer was to connect the SM to my PC by cable but nothing seems to happen. Three. Possible my most important problem was my removal of a number of Apps so I need to know how I return to how it was without taking actions that will delete the photographs.

I never connected to the WIFI at any of the places that I found details of on my SP and I have no idea how the details appeared on my SP. Could it be connected to my mapping? Why has this connection to you got no Spell check? I have a message saying. "Your post has been changed because invalid HTML was found in the message body. The invalid HTML has been removed. Please review the message and submit the message when you are satisfied." Could you please explain what this means?

I'm not in the habbit of checking small print when I visit a restaurant. In fact I stopped looking at small print when I stopped working in employement law and I fail to see why any obligation such as that should be considered the responsibility of a customer.

Model number is SM-J600FN Serial number is RF8KA3CDT3R When I started to investigate my new SP today I discovered that practically every place I had visited over the past few days had sent an unwanted message none of who I had communicated with by Email. If its against the law to telephone people on a cold call surely it’s just as unlawful to invade their SP space. I was told today that I need to go into aircraft mode or switch my WI-FI of when out but why should I have to. I very much resent these intrusions.

I visited a restaurant yesterday and when I got home I received two marketing messages on my SP from them. I have no idea how they found my number but am assuming that somehow or other they used their WI-FI to place the message. I considered it impertinence and want to ensure that I can block such messages in future. Is the only way to do it by turning my SP off or turning my WI-FI off. Is capturing my number in that way legal?

Many thanks for the above SjorsK, I knew that I should never have started to Open “Play Store” but I did and loaded a number of apps upon which I will seek comments on from the next of my children to visit me because I have no idea if they are Good apps or Bad ones. There is now a different message on the front of the SP when I open it which I don’t understand. "Dual Messenger Use two WhatsApps accounts Tap here to install a second copy of WhatsApps." I then switched the SP off and then on again and found that “Google Play Store 11.45” Waiting for WI-FI (320MB) with a green tick messages was still there but underneath it was “Photo Gallery Successfully installed” Thats enough excitement for this evening and I get the feeling that I'm slowly learning.

Firstly many thanks for that information and advice which regretably has creatted a few supplementary questions. When I press the switch on the right hand side of my Samsung J6 the screen lights up for a ten seconds showing two pieces of information which I known not what to do with because I don’t know how un pause the set up. My desktop computer is switched on all the time I have no idea why the SP is whinging about the download size requiring WI-FI. There are two pieces of information on the SP screen set out below. One. IN GREEN Google Play Store 11.45 with a green tick Set up paused. Waiting for WI-FI (320MB) Two. IN GREEN Download Manager with a green tick Smart Things Download size requires WI-FI I saw a line across the bottom of the SP screen in very small type saying, “Swipe Screen to unlock.” So I swiped across the screen thereby exposing a number of Icons one of which was, “Play Store” which I tapped. That then showed, “Sign in to find the latest Android apps, games, movies, music & more. I have no interest in the latest Android, games, movies, music & more. Am I correct in assuming that I have to invite anything I want onto my SM from Play Store?

Many thanks for your welcome Tracy. Knowing that I would need advice on managing my new Smart Phone I joined two forums and I have to say how surprised I have been regarding how difficult it is to obtain advice from either of them on matters such as the mundane subject of Smart Phone covers that will allow one to fold the front over the back and still take photographs. As a new starter I have a list of questions starting with the following. When I switch the SP on a message is waiting which said, “Set up paused, waiting for WI-FI” with a message that mentioned, Play Store” Could someone let me know just what, “Play Store” is and do I really need it because I saw a message on a forum that claimed the person had dumped “Play Store” to save on battery power.

I just attempted to send the Email again and got the "Sorry, we are having a problem executing your request. I had a Nokia 6.1 for my last SP and it came with what I would refer to as, a cover back and front that one lifted if one wanted to access the SP controls. If wanted to take a photograph I had to lift the front cover so that I could access the controls and there it was flopping about as it hung down which I found disconcerting. I couldn't flip it round to the back of the SP because it then blocked the camera lens. My question is; Does a SP cover exist for a Samsung J6 that has a space in the front section of the cover that merges with the space in the back where the camera lens is when one lifts it round to the back of the SP? That way one gets a solid feel to the SP. I just tried to send the Email again and received the sorry, message again and I’m losing patience. I might have said this before but I’m just starting to enter the world of the Smart Phone and I need support which I assumed would be available from a Forum. I bought a Nokia 6.1 because I thought it was a good SP and because the sales person told me that Nokia did have a Forum. However, when I attempted to access the Nokia Forum although a nice picture came up as soon as I attempted to register onto the Forum the nice picture disappeared and all that was left was three dots wandering around the computer desktop. As a result I dumped the Nokia 6.1 and I will dump the Samsung J6 as well because I simply can’t stand such levels of incompetence.

Many thanks for that. I found a page of SP Covers but none that matched what I required set out below so I found a Chat marker on the page. As I wrote on a previous Post, every time I open my Samsung J6 I come across another question and my next one concerns a message that simply appeared saying that I should keep a list of my medications and medical details on my phone as they can be accessed if necessary. I have the problem of dyslexia which makes typing difficult so I would prefer to type my information onto my Desktop Computer and then place it on my SM if I can find where to paste it that is. Could anyone advise me how I could move these detaisl from Desktop Computer to my SM. Just as important, has anyone come across such a message and if so do you know where I can find it?

I have only been learning about the Samsung J6 for a day or so and every time I open it up I find something else I don't understand. My first question concerns a Smart Phone cover (Hope that’s the correct term) I would like. My last SP (hope that’s the correct abbreviation for Smart Phone) had a cover but when I wanted to take a photograph the flap hung down which was inconvenient. I couldn’t fold it back because it blocked the camera lens. Does anyone know of a cover that has an opening in the flap that allows the camera lens to work.

I had a cover with my last SP but it was restricted by the cover flap having no camera hole in the cover which meant that the flap flopped down. Are there any covers that have a camera hole in the flap?

The Phone is a Samsung Galaxy Core Prime, a rather elderly one donated by my middle son. I am a totall new user and are feeling my way. I had about twenty photographs and must have done something wrong because all I have now is one. I'm thinking of buying an inepensive new Samsung J5 so that I know that I will be starting witha blank page.

The place I went to was Tesco and I suspect that it would be them that would benefit from the no Simcard twist but I've seen an add for a Refurbished for £109 or should refurbished be avoided?
