Make sure you don't have PCM set in your TV Audio settings..  This will give the impression that the center channel and  rear sound has been fixed but you won't get actual surround sound. Just Stereo sound split among your rears. ... View more

I gave up...   My R3's are still sitting there pretending to be surrounds but I never use them anymore. Every once in a while I'll group them up as sorounds just to see if anything has change but it never does. All it does is make the soundbar sound thin (very little base) with VERY quite suround sound. Hey Guys,     Strangely enough after the upgrade my center channel seems to be working correctly now. Much better base in the voices.  Can't say much for the surrounds as they are still quite. I have R3's and while they do have better base I can't say they perform any better as surrounds. Like Nick0, I'm still not impressed. I never really even notice the surrounds are there no matter what movie i'm watching and with the center speaker sounding so thin on the voices I tend to always end up switching back to just the sound bar before the movie finishes as it seems to give a fuller overall sound. Unfortunately returning has never been an option for me because the original Firmware issue (a year ago) started about 30 days after purchase... 3+ months later when it became clear that Samsung wasn't listening to it's customers and it would not be getting fixed any time soon (around the same time the moderators here were telling us there wasn't any issue and it was all in our heads) It was way too late for me to return.   So even though Samsung's hold most of the blame for the reason i'm unable to return it, they have never offered any solutions for the preticoment they've put me in...   Believe me I've tried to return it. Here is the easiest way for me to demonstrate the lack of sub support on the center channel.   If you have Netflix, search for a movie called “test pattern”. This movie plays a test sound from low to high through each of the five channels. If you place your hand on the subwoofer you will feel it vibrate while the sound is played on the left and right channels during the lows. But on the center channel you feel and hear nothing from the subwoofer during the lows. You would expect it should react the same way on the left, right AND center channels.   Can anyone else confirm if they can feel or hear sub support on the center channel while playing the same Test Pattern movie?    ... I'd like to thow my hat in here an say that I too am having the issue of no  sub woofer support for my centre channel.   I've been holding out saying anything regarding the new firmware because I couldn't quite tell if it helped the sound issue at all for me.  I listen to movies and i still can't really hear any suround channels.    Also, because the center channels is so thin (no sub support) I still end up swithing the the soundbar back to just TV (2-channel) because the sound is so much fuller.   So for now my system is still no good even with the recent update.  Sux...         ... Forgive me Ryan if  we don't get very enthusiastic when a moderator decides to grace us with their presents here. We've been dealing with these issue pretty much on our own for a year now while Samsung and the few comments from   moderators were quick to tell us our issues were in our imaginations. All the user have been cordial up to this point except for one...hint: NotSamsung. Not to mention   the few disrespectful and patronizing comments that have actually come directly from the moderators. Tovle... Looks like you may be playing audio from your phone? The issues happen while using the system as a 5.1 setup from the TV/Soundbar. My understanding is the sound works fine when just playing audio through the app.   Also, from your screenshot it looks like you just have a standard speaker group set and not a Suround sound group. ...
