I personally wouldn't just due to there being almost no native 8k content at the moment, sure it might be a future proof investment but perhaps by the time 8k content is more readily available the TV could have diminished in quality sunstantially or just simply ends up broken and irreparable by then. I've not found upscaling to be that great but at the same time I'm not saying some don't do a good job, I'm sure the flagship will for sure do it very well.

Certainly only go 8k if it's a large TV as the difference will be minimal on a smaller one. I believe HDMI 2.1 is the current tech and that supports 8k at 30fps. What I would really want would be 8k at 60fps but the capabilities aren't here yet.

I'd personally get an inbetween OLED TV as there are apparently large improvements in peak brightness in the 2021 models but I understand people are worried about burn in but I've never experienced it, but I don't play games or watch TV channels where static images are present. I use my oled in a pitch black room so I guess it would depend what you wanted to watch on it, how bright the room is and whether you're patient enough to wait 1 or 2 years for something better. Samsung supposed to be bringing a QD OLED to the market next year. Not really sure what the QD entails (quantum display?)

I have better things to waste money on, like reglazing the house or a Tesla wall to go with the solar panels. £9000 is silly money for a TV you can hardly use for 8K content yet.

I would not pay anything like that for a TV   or any technology,  I am sure this TV would provide an amazing experience but not sure it is worth that.    Of course 8k content  is very limited but the upscaling capabilities  is far more advanced in premium Tv's due to AI/ Deep Learning  https://www.samsung.com/uk/tvs/qled-tv/q700t-65-inch-qled-8k-smart-tv-qe65q700tatxxu/   https://www.rtings.com/tv/learn/8k-vs-4k-uhd    However if interested in 8k at the moment one of the cheaper options here https://www.samsung.com/uk/tvs/qled-tv/q700t-65-inch-qled-8k-smart-tv-qe65q700tatxxu/

As far as QD OLED goes it is hybrid technology which improves colour and brightness via the use of quantum dots. In theory it should result in incredible levels of contrast and perfect brightness. https://www.flatpanelshd.com/news.php?subaction=showfull&id=1612775487
