TVI recently purchased a UE43BU8000 TV, and I'm having a nightmare mounting it to a VESA wall mount. The paperwork with the TV states that M8 screws are required, but not what length. I have tried 50mm and 30mm, both of which seem too long, as the screws stick out of the back of the TV by a couple of cm. Indeed, the screw holes on the back of the TV only seem to be about 1cm deep, but from what I'm reading the screws should be at least 30mm in length. I've not mounted a TV before, and so I'm not sure if the screws sticking out a little way is normal or not. Can anyone provide some advice?

TV@drchoppy: I have looked into this for you, and you will require 4 x M8 screws at 11-13mm. For further clarification, please refer to the Quick Guide by following the link below.

TVThanks for the reply @AndrewL, I’ve bought some online and I’ll give them a try. Will accept this as the solution once I’ve used them successfully.

TVHi Rob, I bought them on eBay, unfortunately it looks like the item is out of stock there now but hopefully this still gives you an idea of what to look for:

TVHi @drchoppy you think taking a different size screw (M8 screw) and using the spacer to mimic the 11-13 would work? I have the tools to do that. TV is 43'' and not terribly heavy

TVYeah you could definitely cut a longer M8 screw down to size if you have the tools, we were advised that we could do that by a couple of folks but we don’t have the tools (or the confidence!)

TVI'm thinking I take a M8 16MM and use a 2.5MM spacer with the washer which looks to be about the same (2.5MM) and should be good to go to get me down to 11MM. I'll see how it goes. Pain in the A though, thanks
