USB FIRMWARE UPDATE

I have a 2012 UE46ES5500K Smart LED TV

Several apps, including BBC iPlayer, are not functioning. Current firmware version is 001032.

TV won't update over the internet so I am attempting USB firmware update.

I downloaded and extracted the updgrade file T-MST10PDEUC_2007.0.exe

This update is dated 24 May 2016

I followed USB update on-screen instructions but TV did not find firmware update files.

Using my computer, I moved all the upgrade files out of folders, and deleted the folders so that the TV doesn't have to look in folders to see the files on the USB drive.

Tried again, TV still cannot see update files.

Is there anything else left to try?

Hi @logicbuster.

Did you extract the files before saving them to your USB?

I certainly did. I did not save the .EXE file onto the USB, only the extracted files.

What error message do you get when you try to update over the internet @logicbuster?

Thanks @logicbuster.

We can arrange a USB firmware stick to be sent out to you. Can you PM me your name, address (and postcode), contact phone number and email address, along with the serial number of your TV? I'll set that up with the relevant team for you.

Hi again

The USB stick arrived from Samsung but the TV still cannot see the update files it contains.

FYI the USB port definitely works as we use a wifi dongle for the internet connection.

Hi @logicbuster.

Apologies for the delay in reply. Unsure if you've contacted the TV Support team in the meantime, but our Product Specialist has advised that in this case it would be best for you to get in touch with your nearest TV Support Centre to arrange an engineer visit.
