UE55TU8500UXXU / TU8500 HDR content too dark to watch.

Hi all,

I've been trying to watch Ultra HD HDR content from external USB flash/hard drives on my mum's 55" TU8500 TV and am running into major issues with the brightness (or lack there of) in the picture.

Content that is non HDR displays fine and looks amazing, but HDR content, even with the room darkened and the brightness set to max, is too dark to watch.

Dark scenes in films like the Suicide squad, are unwatchable, you can barely make anything out on the screen at all.

I've tried changing the picture type to different modes (movie, game, dynamic etc) to no avail.

When I run the firmware update via the TV menu it says no update available.

Was wondering if anyone had any tips.

Could be the USB speed that causes this, similar to a slow sd card. It might be that the read/write speed is too slow to handle the data.

Not sure how that would affect it, everything non HDR plays fine? If it were a speed issue, wouldn't the film be skipping/blocky?
