TVI bought a UE40MU6400 last week and discovered it has no analogue audio out - my old TV had a 3.5mm jack output tha I used to connect to be speakers.
After much research I have bought a convertor that takes the HDMI ARC output and allows me to connect the 3.5mm jack to it.
I have connected this up and it works fine - the audio is coming out perfectly and the ARC light on the convertor is lit which I assume means it is functioning correctly.
The problem I have is that when I try to change the volume using the TV remote it does nothing.
The TV display shows the Receiver(HDMI) image and the relevant volume up / volume down / mute icons when I use the remote control, it just makes no difference to the output.
Unfortunately my speaker system only has a manual volume control on it, no remote control, so I need the TV remote to control the output.
I am on firmware 1147
Ideally I dont want to have to buy a new speaker system and have read that the HDMI ARC will allow me to use the TV remote to control the volume output.
Any ideas what I am doing wrong?
