Hello, we bought a UE40D8000 in the Netherlands and have since moved to Canada. The TV works fine on Shaw but will not connect to the internet. It is hardwired into the router and all router settings are good. When I look for an update via the TV it just states the server is not found. Anyone?

Hi @mjahoofd,

What software version is your TV currently on? You can find this in Menu > Support > Contact Samsung.

Then, check on this link if it's up to date: https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/model/UE40D8000YUXXU/

If not, you can update the TV via a USB, instructions will be there on the page above. Let us know how you get on.

Hello SaudA,

Well, I have looked at my software and indeed it is older, T-GAP8DEUC 1021.2 BT-G. Went to the Samsung website and downloaded T-GAP8DEUC_1033.2 and put it on a USB stick. Rushed to my TV and put the USB stick in, opened the menu and to my disappointment the TV can not "see" the update. Tried a smaller USB stick but with the same result.

@mjahoofd , Did you extract the file whilst it's on the USB stick? (If not, when the USB stick is in the PC, double click on the .exe firmware file you downloaded and that should bring up the extraction wizard.)

Hello again,

Well, I have read the instructions (thanks for that) and upgraded the TV. It worked!! I am now able to access the internet however, the websites with https:// are not coming up. The server is not found, is the message I am getting. Do you wonderful people have a fix for that as well?
