Does the TV remote only work for Samsung tvs or can it work with the amazon fire box?

The TV remote is designed to work with the TV it comes with, @Cactii, but with the Universal Remote setup, you can use the TV remote to work with other supported connections. You can find some information on Universal Remote setup here: https://www.samsung.com/au/support/tv-audio-video/set-up-universal-remote-on-your-tv/ 

This may not be applicable with the Amazon Firestick, but to help identify if other remote controls will work with Amazon Firestick, it will be ideal to check this with Amazon Support.

That remote in your screenshot is for Google Chromecast (Google TV app). 

For Samsung televisions, open Smartthings app > your TV. This remote should allow you to control other devices.
