Samsung TV suddenly doesn't recognise my Humax Foxsat external Freesat box.

It may be the humax box HDMI output that failed, it happened to mine and apparently is common with them after years of usage. I could only get a picture over s-video output so ended up buying a new Freesat box in the end. If you do the same, do not get the cheap Manhattan one because it's absolute garbage for menu and guide speed and worse still picture quality. You can see pixels and lines in the SD channels because the scaling is rubbish. HD is okay though

Thanks but the problem is with the Samsung TV. I am running decoders into each of the hdmi ports, this morning only one box wasn't working with the universal remote, now after a web chat with Samsung agent neither box is working

Ah that's not good. Mine was hooked up to an AV receiver, so I tried it directly to the TV with a known working HDMI lead. Sadly the humax was an ex-box 365 from then on. The new Freesat boxes are a ripoff but they get away with it because the only competition from Manhattan is so cr4p
