I heard a buzzing sound coming from one of the capacitors on the power board a few weeks ago but it stopped.

Started showing horizontal black lines. Now the the screen is doing this:

It stays there even when the Apple TV is off so definitely the TV. If I switch the TV off and on again it goes away

But after a few minutes it’s back

If I’m watching a video then sometimes it’ll get stuck on a random frame. Only affects certain lines and sometimes only half the screen gets stuck.

TV is starting to show it’s age.

Is it the faulty capacitor? Should I replace the power board? Any ideas?

Regards,

Bernard

It’s the power supply, get a replacement from Samsung, not eBay, those could catch on fire or explode like the Samsung Galaxy Note 7. Samsung power supply’s never really fail, and if they do, it’s mostly lines like in the picture.

DO NOT EVER BUY A CHEAP PSU FROM EBAY, THEY WILL POSE A SAFETY HAZARD. IF YOU BOUGHT A CHEAP PSU, RETURN IT IMMEDIATELY.
