I have a library of video files on a USB hard drive. They are all MKV format, with internal SRT subtitles. My UN43NU6950B TV displays the subtitles by default. However, sometimes I want to turn the subtitles off.
I can not find an option to turn subtitles off. I've seen numerous references online suggesting to turn off Captions in the Assessibility settings. That does not work.
Any one know how to turn off subtitles on the UN43NU6950B TV???

I have the exact same issue. Even contacted Samsung support. My belief is now that they cannot be turned off due to the Tizon OS, thats direct from Samsung support. Irritating when my TEN year old Samsung full hd TV can turn them off with ease.
My issue is the subs are displayed permanently no matter what I do. If i cannot find a fix I'm going to buy a different TV, its a disgrace that you cannot turn them off anymore.

Same issue with my Samsung QN43Q60BAFXZA Q60B 43 inch QLED 4K Quantum Dual LED. Can't turn off subtitles. Not hardcoded subs just to clarify. If I use my Chromecast instead then it does turn off. Sad this is like this for a $470 tv.
Update: ok, I was trying to disable subs via my android phone with no luck. Using the Samsung remote whilst playing the video, press the OK button and at the bottom right you will see the settings symbol. Select settings. Select "subtitles". And turn off from there.
Unfortunately this will need to be done when playing any movie with subtitles every time.

Thanks. That's one problem solved for me and my 'Smart' TV. It is also smart enough to be unable to play AVI files. I have to convert them on my PC. You are right about the price being too high.
