The frame 50inch - plastic part underneath

Hey I’ve just bought this tv and there’s a plastic part underneath that sticks out - is it just a cover that has to come off? Or not? 
if it has to stay, is there anyway to make it flush?

I am also having this problem, noticed it today, around one month after mounting the tv.
