Hi, I have recently purchased a new SUHD curved tv and Samsung sound bar, with subwoofer.
for some reason the surround sound icon will not go away. It's half way up the screen on the left hand side.
the surround sounds works fine, universal Samsung remote operates it perfect aswell. Even when I unplug the sound bar the icon is still there.
I have also tried resetting the tv and it won't go away.
Its driving me mad so any help is much appreciated
thanks

Use your remote that came with the tv. Hit the home
button and toggle to the settings icon. Select the tv audio. Then go back to the same place and select the sound bar audio. That will reset the annoying audio icon that doesn’t disappear.

The thing that worked for me was to change the 'HDMI Audio Format' from "Bitstream" to "PCM". For my sound I have Sonos speakers connected using the optical output. You can find these settings under 'Menu', 'Sound', 'Additional Settings'.

Easiest way to fix this is to hold down the power button on the remote for a long time - don't depress until after it starts rebooting.
