Hi
We got a Q85 last autumn.
Happy with it overall, but its performance once sunlight starts hitting it is atrocious.
I've been onto Samsung help, and they've said that it's the temperature caused by the sun (ha ha - we're in Northern Ireland with a current UV forof 0.0 a start!!).
As I pointed out to them, if we keep the TV in a dark room and then fling the curtains open the effect is IMMEDIATELY there, as you can see from the enclosed photo taken when the TV is OFF! There is no way it is anything other than the coating on the TV.
Can anyone suggest any way of dealing with this? Their only suggestion was to move the TV (and consequently the fishtank, cabinets and sofas) so that the TV gets no direct light (so south wall only or back to window thereby obscuring half the window!)
Really dreading the summer, as with our Northern location it means we'll have to perform all TV viewing between 4am and 11 pm in a darkened room. Ok it's NI so it's not going to be every day we have that fiery ball in the sky, but shutting the curtains on those days is a depressing thought, and we've 3.5 years of payments still to make on this turkey.
Suggestions please!

Hi @niniki
Could you confirm if the 'rainbow' effect is visible when the TV is on and if so, is it visible all the time or only in direct sunlight?

It only happens when in direct sunlight (from the side - window is perpendicular to TV), and is visible from the sun comes to that side of the house until heading to dusk. So wide angle of direct side light.
It's there irrespective of whether TV is on or off.
