Sound keeps changing back to TV speakers

I've seen other threads on this but they seem to refer to people using HDMI/ARC.

Mine does not relate to this.

I have a new samsung smart TV with Samsung soundbar connected via optical cable.

In the settings menu I have the Sound set to Optical.

When I turn on the TV, all is good for about 15 minutes. Then suddenly I hear an echo, go and check and the sound has set itself back to TV speaker in the settings menu. So the sound is coming out both the soundbar and the TV speaker.

It was fine for 2 days and now it's doing this all the time. Why does it suddenly change after about 15 minutes?

If there is no cable damage @Members_QKcKX1m and @Frustrated6 then it is most likely a software related problem

NOT cable related and looks to be firmware setting. This is affecting many customers with soundbar connectivity. It is a mess and Samsung need to address it or lose customers. I am considering buying Sony and moving away from Samsung altogether!
