Hello

I'm sure this is not a Samsung TV problem but I'm hoping someone here may know of a possible resolution?

I have new Sky-Q, Sonos and Samsung TV. They are all working together but I'm not getting the sound I'm expecting.

Sonos: I have a Playbase, Sub & two Play:1s all paired together.

Samsung TV QE55Q80RAT.

The Sonos plays music as expected and when I'm logged in to my Netflix account via the TV, the sound is awesome, but when watching TV/Cinema/Netflix via Sky-Q, the sound is no better than the sound I got from my old TV with no Sonos. I can hear sound from the two Play:1s but I have to put my ear right against it and the same is with the sub.

Has anyone else experienced the same and if so, have you managed to fix it?

Many thanks for your tips and help in advance.

Hi,

It sounds like you need to switch the HDMI Audio output on your sky Q box to Dolby Digital if you havent already done so?

This means that the sound being supplied to the TV which inturn gets to your Sonos system via the optical cable is in Dolby Digital

The sound being generated from a TV signal at present sounds like it is fine but the problem is only on an external source.

I have a similar setup with a Sonos Playbar, Sub and pair of Sonos one's.
