Setting a Samsung Profile within SERVIIO DNLA to fix when films do not play as they are not supported

If you use SERVIIO on your computer and a Samsung smart TV in your home and are having issues with some films not playing over DNLA this tip might help.

 

Start the SERVIIO console on your computer and go to STATUS, here you will see a list of connected devices, past and present.

 

Find your Samsung TV and click on EDIT for that line.

 

The last option on the settings is one called PROFILE which is currently set as "Generic DNLA profile", select this and you will get a drop down menu, find your Samsung TV series and press OK to save the new profile setting and SAVE on the main status page.

 

For me, by doing this my Samsung TV started playing most films without a problem.

 

Remember to restart your TV after doing this so it makes a fresh connection to SERVIIO with the new profile.
