This is ridiculous. DV is taking off and your lack of support does nothung but hurt your customers.

How about you lead the way and put your customers before some ***** fisted marketing strategy?

So the details of the new 2021 range have been released with the details of the new QLED Neo and they are sticking with HDR10+ with no mention of Dolby Vision. It seems so ridiculous that they would add 12 bit colour capabilities, but still leave out the biggest format to help take advantage of that colour range. I'm happy to wait for full official specs as perhaps they just didn't want to make DV support public yet, but if this holds true I'll be buying from a different vendor this year.

This is just getting silly, now. Whoever are the decision makers are hurting Samsung's sales and, as far as I'm concerned, are bad actors.

No sign of a change of approach at the moment  and Samsung now focusing  on HDR10+ Adaptive,  enabling compatible displays to automatically optimize brightness levels, on a scene-by-scene basis, to  match creators  intent  https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/hdr10-technologies-announces-hdr10-adaptive-the-latest-addi... https://www.trustedreviews.com/news/samsungs-hdr10-adaptive-goes-head-to-head-with-dolby-vision-iq-4...          CES starts 11 January but do not expect much more news on The Tv front.  https://www.engadget.com/ces

James I haven't no idea Samsung had this issue. Knowing the format received good review it's a amazing consolation, I will buy old tech stuff with formats that have lost the competition and make a tech museum of the loosers in my house.

There is no focus in HDR10+, you can't find content in this format. If the problem is a payment for the license I pay it gladly.

From the CES announcements, LG is adding a Quantum Dot Mini LED screen very similar to the Samsung QLED Neo but it includes Dolby Vision, that's the one I now have my eye on. Will see how the new 8k TCL & Hisense options review as well before making a final decision.

Still hoping that Samsung will add DV before they launch later this year though

Yep, there is nothing wrong with supporting both hdr10+ and Dolby Vision, the market will decide which one will be the more popular format. Samsung is an electronics manufacturer, not an HDR standard setter. Including Dolby Vision simply adds more reason to buy Samsung, and that improves your bottom line, makes customers happier, no reason not to.

HDR10+ has completely faded even the 2-3 studios that would do this format a favour wont master their movies in HDR10+ anymore.

Samsung owners are really missing out on a great viewing experience.
