My wife stated she smelled something like spray paint fumes in our bonus room.  I check the garage for any paint like fumes and found nothing.  The next day she informed me the TV wasn't working and was just flashing SMART TV on and off on the screen.  I went and investigated further and observed a burning plastic type of odor.  I opened the TV up to investigate and found a short circuited LED backlight that had charred the led circuit and caused melting of the Mylar reflective sheet that goes over the LED's.  We were close to having a fire in our house if we hadn't caught this problem. This caused us quite a scare and left us wondering what if we had not caught this problem.  We could of had a very serious and life threating fire spread throughout our house.  What if we were not in the room and the TV caught fire in a remote part of our home.  What if our grandkids where visiting and sleeping in the room right beside the bonus room.  I have contacted pro customer service and sent them a photo of the burnt LED backlighting circuitry an the charred Mylar film along with our serious concern for our safety and the safety of other owners of Samsung LED TV sets.  I asked if the service representative had ever seen anything like this an they indicated they had not.  I still don't think the seriousness of this issue has been recognized.  I ask them to contact what ever level of management up to and including the CEO to determine the corrective action that needs to be taken.  I will start warning everyone of this potential deadly fire hazard including this Samsung Community of owners.  I want to know how this happened and what Samsung will do as a result to ensure the safety of all Samsung TV owners.  Here is a photo that should concern you all.

This has just happened to me, only a whole line of LED's burnt out. Very scary, fumes everywhere and blue/grey haze filled the room.
