I've just ordered the above TV for my kitchen. The TV will be used to for Now TV, Netflix, Amazon TV, Iplayer

So the plan - it's to be wall mounted on a bracket. cables to run down the wall behind trunking, along the top of the skirting and in a kitchen cupboard (socket inside) so no cables visible.

My main question is internet connection. --------------------------I have BT superfast broadband, is it as simple as being able to log onto the TV wirelessly and all the apps will work? Range and speed is normally very good throughout the house? Or do I need some kind of plug in extender and an ethernet cable??

Also, am I correct in thinking that I can't get 'live tv' channels BBC, ITv etc without an aerial plugged in?

Any help or advice much appreciated. I'm new to all this!!

Richard.

Hi @rmjohns2  Yes , you have a choice of Wireless or Wired Internet Connections. As long as it works fine imagine Wireless connection would be better for you,  some folk will feel the need for wifi extenders but you seem to think the connection is good throughout the property.   When setting the Tv up  user will be asked if they wish to connect wirelessly or Wired. see more here   https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/tv-audio-video/how-do-i-check-the-internet-settings-on-my-tv/

You will need an aerial connection for Freeview  https://www.aerialforce.co.uk/how-to-set-up-freeview-on-your-samsung-smart-tv/   However you can watch catch up Tv, streaming services   and some live TV via the internet  (depends if you need Freeview).      Live Tv is available on BBC iplayer and ITV Hub , however not for All4 and My5 on the Smart platform (live programmes  only available via  computer or tablet).

Thanks a lot for the reply  @James4578, appreciated.

One other question for you regarding cables, I'll need a longer mains cable - roughly 3 metres to get down the wall and in the cable. I'm assuming you can just buy a larger one to fit form Amazon etc. Also are there any other cables I need to consider that will need to go into the plug in the cupboard. I wasn't planning on getting a soundbar for underneath the TV, but this might change.

HI@rmjohns2 , yes you should be able to get a longer power cable fine like these  ones for instance.  https://www.amazon.co.uk/Right-Angle-Mains-Power-Samsung       As far as Soundbar goes mounting with brackets shown in this short video:
