samsung ue43ku6670 tv dark in fifth of the screen

Hi, 

My Samsung TV has a developed a dark area on the left which is ~a fifth of the viewing area. I've tried resetting to factory setting, picture tests etc to no avail.

I've been told I need a new TV which I'm not happy about as the TV is only just over 2 years old so I'm hoping it maybe an easily fixed issue.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Dead backlight LED. Not easily fixed issue.

Thanks for the reply. By the sound of it a new TV is required, annoying as I've only had it just over 2 years and in hindsight should have taken the extended warranty.
