Samsung TVs Forum Controlling a Samsung TV remotely (for someone with dementia)

My mum has dementia and lives on her own. She is finding it increasingly difficult to find channels and I wonder whether it is possible to change channels remotely?

The TV is a Samsung UE48JU7000TXXU

There is an iMac in the room where the TV is located and on the same network as the TV. Are there any Mac apps that will enable me to control the TV and which will allow me to change channels (I can remotely log into the iMac)?

I use the Freesat app which can control my receiver like a normal remote as well as add recordings but I take it you mean Freeview on the set itself? See if the Freeview equivalent app offers the same functionality.
