Samsung SSD T5 too slow????

Bought a Samsung Q70R and Samsung T5 external hard drive. 
The SSD would record some programs and not others which I thought was just a glitch BUT today the TV says 'attached device may not be fast enough would you like to run performance test?' I say yes and it says ' faster USB needed' and does not allow any recording now. I am no computer wiz but I thought the T5 was one of the better external hard drives? Any help, suggestions or shall I do as TV says and get a faster ssd?

Are you sure that you plugged the drive in a 3.0 or more port?

Hi,

yes definitely in the 3.0 port. 

changed to the Toshiba one that is highly recommended on numerous sites and it has resolved the issue. I can only deduce it may have been a one-off faulty Samsung SSD or teething problems with my TV. 

No issues now, a recommendation to buy the Toshiba SSD - which fits/sits nicely in the indentation on back of TV where lead for SSD goes in.
