Hi everyone,
i have an UE40H5000AK tv and i have an 4k firestick connected to it and its now just showing a black screen when i boot it up.
starts of with the display resolution and the amazon logo show then it just black and nothing!
i have try others on it and its the same but when i put the firestick to another tv its perfectly fine.
anyone has this issue and how they solved it? Im planning to update the firmware to see if that will make any differene.

HI @Soya1 It seems that the latest firmware for this model is dated April 2016 https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/model/UE40H5000AKXXU/ You could try a Factory Reset and or Factory Reset of Tv. Other idea is to disconnect Tv and all connections including Firestick for 5 minutes and try again. HDMI cables may also be an issue.
This model is a Hd set but the 4k firestick should still work , though obviously will be lower resolution on this set. https://thehometheaterdiy.com/4k-fire-tv-stick-on-non-4k-tv/

Thanks! Will need to take a look at it! I believe it could be the TV as the firesticks works on other TV tht is not Samsung.

All,
i got the firmware for the tv but the tv is saying there is no update.
using usb stick with the firmware in .EXE form which was downloaded from the site.
is it suppose another type of file?

HI @Soya1 check the firmware version on the Tv, if it is 1042 there is no further update available. However if earlier version should be able to update, yes it is an .exe file. Just to check that you have unzipped the file after downloading and have stored it on the USB stick https://www.samsung.com/levant/support/tv-audio-video/how-to-update-the-samsung-tvs-firmware-using-a...
If have 1042 and still problem follow the other steps I mentioned earlier.

The firmware doesnt update. TV checks but still doesnt update!
still seeing the firmware version on tv 1018.
Even with usb plugged in the tv checks for software update and says there is no update.

OMG! i found the issue.
You have to run the .EXE file to decompress the firmware update................................SAMSUNG ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!! You couldnt just mention that in the support page of the product that FIRMWARE IS .EXE please run to see folders.
@JAMES4578 - I need to start again and this time decompress the .EXE
