Samsung 6 Series UE40KU6400 boots to a black screen if left off for a long time

When I leave my UE40KU6400 off for a few hours and switch it on again I get no picture or sound, just a black screen. If I then select TV input manually I get the TV tuner picture and audio. This only happens if I leave the TV off for a few hours not if i switch it on and off again after a few miniutes.

What software version is your TV on (Settings > Support > Contact Samsung)? And what other devices do you have connected to it?

Amazon 4K Fire TV box conected via hdmi.

Once you have turned it on and changed the source to TV go to Settings > Broadcasting > Auto Tuning > Standby Auto Tuning Off. Then return the TV to the HDMI source you wish to view.

Seems to have worked, but now when I switch to hdmi input to watch from the Amazon Fire TV box I get sound but no picture.

Have you tried using the Fire TV box with a different TV?

Also, try switching the source to TV and then back to HDMI, has this fixed the issue?
