RU7400 can’t connect to SmartView app

Ok so this weekend I bought a RU7400. All set up and working fine except I've downloaded both the SmartView and SmartThings apps on both an iPhone and iPad and neither will connect to the tv. Both apps show the tv there but when I select them they try to connect then just come up saying unable to connect. 

Any ideas?

I've tried everything here and still no joy at all. The only thing I haven't tried is connecting an android device as I don't have one! There must be reason I can't connect?
