Remote problem on smart tv

Hello all,

I bought this TV about 6 months ago. I believe it's the 8 series. But lately the remote stops working and the only button that works is the power button. I tried combos I found online but nothing works and the only fix is turning off the tv and unplugging it from the mains for 15+ seconds. It seems to be happening a lot and I cannot work out why?

today I saw a message that the software had been updated. But surely that would not stop the remote working?

i do also use my Samsung s10+ as a remote but I find it hassle doing it that way.

any help to avoid it happening again is always appreciated.

That's the Samsung Smart remote. Have a look at this useful link from our friends in the US.
