Remote not pairing

We have inherited a Samsung TV 

Ue65ju7500T

with this remote which won’t pair 

we have followed the instructions - the remote will turn the TV on and off and the Bluetooth comes on and looks like it’s searching for it, then shows to press the 2 buttons which we do, but nothing happens after that. 
We have changed the batteries too

Any ideas welcome

Hi @Eileen 1  Have you pressed the Return and play/Pause Buttons simultaneously for  more than3 seconds, also check there is no obstruction.
