Recording to Seagate Backup Plus. Samsung UE49MU7000 49" UHD 4K

I have been recording successfully to a Seagate Backup Plus HDD. Suddenly I cannot access the recordings I have on HDD - the blue wheel spins then stops. If I try to record a message pops up 'Failed to record'.  Please does anyone have a solution.

see if the drive is the problem rather than the TV. Hook it up to a computer and scan it for errors

Thanks for your reply.  I hooked HDD up to laptop and did an Error Checking scan. It came back with - There was a problem with scanning this drive. I then did scan and repair. This came back with - A snapshot error occurred while scanning this drive. You can try again, but if this problem persists, run an offline scan and fix. So I think I'll have to look into doing an offline scan and fix. Will have to Google that.
