I'm considering doing away with my dated Freeview box and upgrading to a newer TV too.
The only thing holding me back is having a Freeview box with a build in harddrive, allowing me to record live TV.
Does anyone know if you can record live TV on a Samsung smart TV, presuming using a USB stick, and in particular if I can do so on the Samsung the frame TV?

HI @Bradley0316   Yes you can record to  USB on a  number of Samsung Tv's and mentioned in 2022 Frame manual (however on this point  stipulated depended on region/model) As far as USB drives go Samsung tend to recommend hard drives with an external power supply and a maximum capacity of 2 TB and 5400 rpm, however USB powered devices should be fine. Would only be able to  record one channel  whilst watching another though   Some more information here on best options, hard drives are faster.   https://www.bluecinetech.co.uk/external-hard-drive-for-tv-recording/   https://www.whatsthebest.co.uk/tech/televisions/best-usb-stick-for-smart-tv/

I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.

@Bradley0316: Further to the reply by @JAMES4578, please take a look at the link below from our friends at Samsung Australia, for a guide on how to record live TV using a USB device.
