Questionable 5 year warranty

I purchased a TV last November.  The TV comes with a 5-year warranty.

13 months later the remote stops working.

Samsung say the remote is not covered by the warranty as it’s an accessory

Without the remote I am unable to work the TV, therefore it’s a functional part

it’s probably the cheapest part that can be posted out with any engineer intervention, yet they prefer to have some weird clause that says it’s an accessory and let people go and tell ***** stories about their experience with Samsung products. Now that’s a poor marketing strategy!!

This is the kind of messaging that these giants fail to communicate at point of sale

Use the buttons at the bottom of the TV until you get a new remote

Samsung warranties are not worth the paper they're written on. I had an £1800 TV lose it's picture after 13 months, and Samsung and Currys both have me the run around. Managed to fix it to a degree with some ribbon cables from eBay and gave it to my son. Went and bought a decent LG oled after that and would never buy another Samsung TV.
