QN95B buzzing on standby

Good afternoon,

My two months old QN95B television emits a high pitched buzz/squeal whilst on standby.

This noise is loud enough to be heard over background noise and disturb the room.

It lasts around 60 to 120 seconds and can vary between shortly after use or hours after use.

All cables are correctly fitted to the one connect box, which is in turn firmly connected to the screen.

Any suggestions on a cure?

@J0hn78: Have you been able to determine where the sound is coming from e.g. the speakers, the one-connect box etc? If you unplug the TV at the wall, does the sound stop?

The noise sounds like it originates from the One Connect box.

Turning off the mains power stops the noise.

I have the exact same issue on my qn95b 75 inch. I have it since a week and noticed it today. Sounds almost like a mosquito...

The noise comes from where the cable of the one connect box goes into the TV, but it comes from inside the TV. Only in standby.

Tried different wall sockets, different one connect cable, disconnecting all other devices in the sockets nearby. Drives me crazy because you clearly hear it from 4 meters away, Help please... 😞

Do you all think that every model with the One Connect Box has this issue? Because if that is the case, I will try to upgrade to the 2023 model without the OCB.

Hello,

Same problem here: the sound comes from the TV, somehow near the connector at the back. It does not come from the One Connecte Box (in my case at least).

Unplugging the TV at the wall, or power it on stops the buzz.

Really annoying!

Any idea on how to solve this? Or should I return my TV (1 week old)?

I contacted my vendor and told him I would like to keep it but this is impossible with this noise. We agreed that he will pick it up and gets a chance to fix it and if that fails, I can give it back.

Maybe you could propose something like that as well - you have 14 days to give it back (if bought online) so chances are he will agree.

For me, it really was a "tough" decision. I like this model very much, also the OCB is a superb solution - but I dont want to live with that annoying noise the next ca. 5 years. If I did not get the chance to get it repaired, I would have given it back.

How do I get this device repaired (or just returned/replaced if no repair is possible)?

I can't see a way to contact Samsung that allows me to report this buzzing noise.
