According to a Dutch Blog,   Samsung recently filed a patent for a Wireless Power Receiver and Display.   It is envisaged the TV would incorporate the wireless receiver in the form of a bar which would be  mounted horizontally behind the Tv. The power receiver would act as a wireless power receiver generating power via a seperate wireless receiver . The wireless power receiver is connected to a Box where wireless power transmitter is present (shape similar to a Sound Bar).

However the caveat is that the patent filing does not necessarily mean that Samsung has any specific plan along these lines at the present time.  Nonetheless the technology is bound to be moving forward in  a variety of areas.

Judging from my own experience with Samsung, its gonna have connectivity issues, so it will just be an expensive and nice to look at brick.

Hi @Mirko_Brand , thanks for your input  though others may beg to differ.

A few points here,  know some folk have experienced connectivity issues and certainly not downplaying them. However others find the technology works  well for them and complaints likely to catch more attention.    Certainly report issues in any  sphere though if you are  not able to solve them as the Community/Moderators will do their best to assist and in some cases escalate to find solutions if more specialised help needed.

To get back to the thread subject as such, the Wireless Receiver may be some way off but thought  it would be of interest,  I am always interested in developments and ideas for the future.   I would  imagine there would  be thorough testing before a truly wireless set would come on market, though there are  instances where of course where technology does not quite work out as intended initially.
